MHCI, Clinical Intern

I am a passionate and empathetic Mental Health Counselor in training committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative space for individuals seeking positive change. Through my own struggle and healing, I discovered that sometimes, our most profound experiences of pain and loss can become the wellsprings of strength and connection, enabling us to guide others from darkness into the light. This realization has shaped my approach as a therapist, allowing me to walk alongside my clients with empathy, authenticity, and the unwavering belief that, even in the darkest moments, there is hope for healing and growth.

I work with children and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, trauma, PTSD and Autism spectrum disorders.
My therapeutic approach is holistic addressing the well-being of the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. I recognize that individuals are complex, interconnected beings, and their mental health is influenced by various aspects of their lives. Rather than just focusing on deficits or problems, a holistic approach aims to empower clients by recognizing and using their existing assets. Lastly, I acknowledge the interplay between mental and physical health and encourage clients to adopt a healthy lifestyle that includes good nutrition, regular exercise, and stress management techniques, as these can have a positive impact on mental well-being.

Past clients report developing better-coping strategies and emotional regulation techniques to manage stress and difficult situations. They also gain insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This self-awareness can lead to healthier decision-making and improved relationships. Some experience improvement in their relationships with family, friends, and significant others. They are better able to address conflicts, communicate more effectively, and establish healthy boundaries. They also find the ability to bounce back from setbacks and adversity, ultimately increasing their resilience and adaptability.

When not doing therapy, I enjoy spending time with family, and friends as well as trying new restaurants. A passion of mine is traveling and experiencing different cultures and places. Mindfulness, meditation, and yoga are foundational aspects of my daily routine that sustain my well-being and allow me to be fully present in my life and in my therapeutic work with clients.
