Kenneth David Scott Jr. ,

I’m a Caribbean American psychotherapist from Canarsie, New York. I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Old Westbury and my master’s of social work from Walden University. My past work with HELP USA and the Institute for Community Living lent me extensive experience working with people of all ages suffering from severe mental health issues. I also have a long history of working with BIPOC populations. My own experiences dealing with failure and loss taught me the skills of resilience that I now share with my clients.

During the pandemic, I started “The Mind,” a blog that makes mental health topics accessible to the average person. My current mission is to continue to spread mental health information to help people who don’t work in the psychology field get a better understanding of themselves.

In 2022, I joined Resilient Mind Psychotherapy. As a therapist, I specialize in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, and depression. My unique ability to relate to people from all walks of life helps me to quickly build rapport and get to the root cause of a client’s issue. I use an intentional and deliberate therapeutic approach to help clients learn skills to overcome any difficulties they may be facing. Sessions are tailored to fit the unique circumstances and needs of the client.

My future aspirations include getting my clinical license and doctoral degree in order to teach at the university level. When I’m not at work I love to blog, play video games, and have uplifting conversations with friends.
