Psychotherapist Brooklyn, NYC
Sean Reap, LMSW
My years as a teacher taught me, through trial, error, and reflection, to be patient and empathetic. Learning to harness the power of relationships to enhance literacy profoundly shaped my approach to therapy. From this foundation, I hold an intentional space where the therapeutic relationship can blossom and bear fruit for personal growth and healing.
As a therapist, I specialize in working with clients facing anxiety and depression, but I also support individuals with trauma, ADHD, ASD, PTSD, and those seeking support with life skills. Clients most frequently report feeling stuck, through our work together I help them move in the direction they want to go. My approach is collaborative and adaptable, starting with building rapport and assessing client needs, then using evidence-based modalities to guide clients through a personalized healing process.
I excel at building deep connections quickly, making clients feel safe and understood while offering sharp insights and actionable steps that align with their readiness. After working with me clients often experience greater self-awareness, improved coping strategies, and a clearer sense of direction in their personal and emotional lives.
My passions include reading for both pleasure and self-improvement, crossword puzzles, long-distance running, strategy games, social justice, and fatherhood.
