Psychotherapist in Brooklyn, NY

Jeremy Herbert, MHC-LP
Growing up in Harlem taught me about identity, resilience, and the power of community—lessons I carry into my work as a therapist. I’m passionate about helping others, particularly those from underrepresented or diverse backgrounds, feel seen, understood, and supported.
Before becoming a therapist, I was a track athlete who ran the 100, 200, and 400 meters. Even though I had natural talent, I often wrestled with confidence and self-doubt, which helps me empathize deeply with people facing pressure, uncertainty, or high expectations.
I work with adults and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, emotional regulation, anger, perfectionism, relationship challenges, and self-esteem. My goal is to help thoughtful, motivated people better understand themselves and create more meaningful connections with others.
In sessions, I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), while tailoring my approach to each individual’s unique needs. I bring humor, authenticity, and warmth to create a relaxed, supportive space where you can truly be yourself.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy building Legos, spending time at the gym, listening to music, and trying new foods.
