Psychotherapist Brooklyn, NYC

Nick DeFazio, Clinical Supervisor
My journey to become a therapist started at the age of 13 when I first started experiencing suicidal ideation. After years of struggling with my mental health, I was eventually diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and began receiving specialized treatment which helped me achieve remission. Therapy not only saved my life but also helped me build one worth living. I realized that I wanted to help others build a life of meaning, especially those who are living with BPD.
I’m also passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and strive to offer a safe space to help clients navigate the complexities of identity. I primarily utilize DBT in my work with clients to help with developing mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and building healthy relationships. I also incorporate other modalities such as ACT in sessions. Past clients report not only a reduction in their symptoms but gaining the tools and perspective to transform their lives.
In my free time I enjoy playing guitar, hiking, and spending time with my dog, Yaz.
