Psychotherapist Brooklyn, NYC
Noah Cohen,
LMSW, MA
I grew up in a suburb in New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia. As a child, I learned a lot from my family and friends as my identity developed. I was lucky to experience a diverse academic and professional life throughout my youth and adulthood. My first job after graduate school was at an empowerment program for at-risk youth which laid the foundation for my work as a therapist. It taught me how to manage crisis, effectively solve problems, provide psychoeducation, and connect patients to essential mental health resources.
As a therapist, I have helped countless clients find relief from depression, OCD, phobias, anxiety, and trauma. Through a unique combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-focused approaches I guide clients toward greater levels of well-being and wholeness. My clinical style allows clients to be self-driven and self-directive during our sessions. While the mental health treatment process can be intimidating, I believe it’s important to embrace autonomy on your unique therapeutic journey. Past clients report a reduction in negative thought processes and a greater capacity to engage in self-care.
Outside of work, I am a passionate Philadelphia sports fan, and especially love watching the Philadelphia Eagles. I also enjoy playing basketball and practicing yoga. I find peace in talking and hanging out with friends and family while engaging in New York City’s various cultural offerings.
