Pilar Walker,
(LMHC, Clinical Supervisor)

My journey into therapy started with a fascination for human behavior during my undergraduate studies in psychology. My interest solidified as I explored various electives and recognized the profound impact therapy could have in normalizing mental health care. Committed to helping my community, I pursued graduate studies in mental health counseling to address and destigmatize issues I witnessed growing up. My mission is to provide accessible, culturally competent therapy that promotes holistic well-being.

I specialize in working with people dealing with anxiety, issues in relationships, and life transitions. In my practice, I focus on identifying thought patterns and teaching coping skills to reframe and test these thoughts. As a certified integrative mental health professional, I incorporate modalities like deep breathing, sound baths, meditation, and movement into therapy. I emphasize the mind-body connection, helping clients understand how their thoughts and physical state are intertwined and how they can use this understanding to improve their well-being.

Clients often report that my collaborative approach makes a significant difference in their therapeutic experience. I prefer to engage in a back-and-forth dialogue rather than taking a didactic stance. By combining CBT with integrative modalities, I provide a multifaceted approach to therapy. Many clients appreciate this blend and feel more equipped to handle their anxiety, improve their relationships, and enhance their concentration at work. They often mention how I’ve helped them identify and reframe their thought processes, navigate interpersonal relationships better, and find comfort in the gray areas of life.

Outside of work, I am passionate about working within my community and making a positive impact. I also work at a school for children with special needs, where I strive to be a role model for the kids and help bridge cultural understanding among the staff. In my personal time, I enjoy various hobbies that help me relax and recharge, such as practicing meditation.
