Yana Shenker received her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University in 2012. Since then, she has worked with adults, adolescents, and children specializing in depression, anxiety disorders, and self-love. Dealing with Generalized Anxiety Disorder from an early age, Yana made it her mission to spread awareness and educate about the hardships of living with a mental health issue.
She began a Facebook page as a social movement to provide women with a positive outlet to anonymously ask questions with a vision of creating a virtual support system and reducing the stigma of mental health issues. Today, “GroupTherapyBYyana” has grown to 12,000 female members with over 2,000 anonymous concerns.
In 2017, Yana’s personal blogs titled “11 Simple Strategies I Use to Help Ease My Anxiety” and “Some Do’s and Don’ts for Living With Anxiety” were published on “The Mighty” and “Thought Catalog” popular mental health blog sites.
Yana specializes in depression, anxiety disorders, and issues with self-love. Through a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, Solution Focused (Brief) Therapy, and mindfulness, Yana offers individualized services for children, adolescents, and adults by guiding them through the journey of healing.
Yana is a new mommy to baby Luca. She lives with her husband and son in Brooklyn, New York. When not in the office, she enjoys exploring the city and developing new ideas in coffee shops
Yana’s definition of happiness is staying in the moment and contributing to the world.
