Sha Keema Griffin

Sha-Keema Griffin, LMSW

I’m a trauma-informed therapist with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and young adults through periods of crisis, transition, and growth. My professional journey began on the front lines of care — working in a crisis nursery with children from birth to age 10, supporting adolescents as a Youth Specialist with Boys Town, and assisting young mothers as a case aide in a residential setting. These early roles shaped my deep understanding of how early experiences, chronic stress, and systems involvement impact emotional well-being across the lifespan.

In my role as a Program Director and Senior Case Planner within a young adult transitional supportive housing program, I work closely with individuals ages 18–26 navigating housing instability, trauma histories, mental health challenges, and the transition into independence. This leadership experience allows me to bring a thoughtful balance of empathy, structure, and practical insight into my clinical work.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in trauma-informed care. I draw from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and harm-reduction principles, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, goals, and lived experiences. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to move forward at their own pace.

I primarily work with adolescents and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related stress, emotional regulation challenges, and life transitions. Clients who connect well with me often appreciate a therapist who understands complex life circumstances and offers both compassionate support and practical tools for change. With consistent work, clients often develop greater self-awareness, stronger coping skills, healthier boundaries, and increased confidence navigating relationships and life transitions.

Outside of the therapy room, I value balance, personal growth, meaningful connection, and spending time with family and friends.
