Anne Ferrara, LCSW, Clinical Supervisor

I began my career working with at-risk youth and children in foster care across New York City and Connecticut. This early work opened my eyes to the profound effects of childhood trauma and the powerful role a person’s environment plays in their development. It laid the foundation for the past nine years of my work as a clinical therapist supporting children and families.

Today, I primarily work with clients facing anxiety, depression, and the emotional weight of past trauma or present-day stressors. While Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is my main modality, I believe therapy should always be client-driven. Flexibility, responsiveness, and clear communication between therapist and client are essential to the therapeutic process.

When I began practicing in 2016, I had no experience in private practice. Coming from a background focused on high-risk youth, stepping into this new setting was both exciting and unfamiliar. I leaned heavily on my clinical supervisors to help me build confidence, sharpen my skills, and find my footing. Those relationships profoundly shaped who I am—both as a clinician and now as a supervisor. My intention is to offer you that same space: one where you are the central focus, and where we can learn and grow together.

In supervision, I work with clinicians to develop strong clinical judgment, thoughtful decision-making, and a grounded, confident therapeutic presence. While I’m committed to helping you grow professionally, I also believe deeply in supporting the emotional demands of this work. Supervision will be a space not just for case consultation, but for laughter, reflection, and honest conversations. I recognize that people learn in different ways, so I take an adaptive approach—exploring different learning styles to find what best supports your growth. My goal is to foster a space where you can reflect, build confidence, and strengthen your trust in your instincts. I believe in a truly collaborative relationship, and I’m honored to be part of your professional journey.
